 Follow the below steps to Install Apache2 server on your System: Ubuntu 14.04

Open termnial : Ctrl + Alt + T

0) To update the already installed software : sudo apt-get update

1) to install the apache server : sudo apt-get install apache2

    after few minutes you will see :

 * Starting web server apache2                                                            
AH00558: apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1. Set the 'ServerName' directive     globally to suppress this message
 *

2)To change the name of the server : echo "ServerName localhost" | sudo tee /etc/apache2/conf-available/fqdn.conf
 sudo a2enconf fqdn

3) To restart the apcahe2 server : sudo service apache2 reload

4) To check your apache2 server : Type local host or 127.0.0.1 0r 127.0.1.1

Well congratulations you have succesfully installed your apache2 server.
